AI Engineers, Inc. (AIE) is looking for an Inspector to join our Construction Engineering Inspection services, supporting DOT projects across New Jersey. This is an immediate opening for an enthusiastic, highly-organized Inspector with construction inspection experience to join our experienced team of Construction Inspection specialists. The ideal candidate should possess a “can-do” attitude, excellent verbal and written communication skills, and an ability to work independently as well as with a team in a dynamic, fast-paced, and innovative consulting firm.

Requirements/Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 3+ years of experience in construction materials, methods, and procedures.
  • 2+ years of field inspection experience in civil, highway or related engineering/survey fields.
  • Experience with NJ/NY DOT projects is preferred
  • Experience inspecting construction on Bridges or Roadways strongly preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or related, preferred.
  • NETTCP HMA/CI/S&A and/or ACI certification, NICET II-IV certification, Professional Engineering License or CCM/CMIT Certification preferred.
Responsibilities
  • Read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Facilitate the project team and ensure the client has the inspection reports they need.
  • Build relationships with the client and oversee the construction of projects
  • Prepare daily inspection reports.
  • Perform quantity computations.
  • Perform material sampling and testing.
  • Maintain field records.
Skills & Abilities
  • A self-starter with the ability to work with project teams and manage multiple and concurrent tasks/assignments
  • Strong organizational skills with ability to manage the inspection duties in the field.
  • Data driven and detail-oriented with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Considerable knowledge of Architecture, Engineering, Construction inspection process and procedures
  • Ability to meet deadlines and complete work in a timely manner.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to work sites.
