The Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department of Middlesex College invites applications for part‑time, non‑credit instructors to teach the following course:
- Medical Assistant
Important:
Please note that a non‑credit instructor is not an adjunct position. Successful candidates teach courses in the Workforce Development and Lifelong Learning Department (WDLL).
The ability to teach a program up to 460 hours, up to 25 hours per week (5 days per week for 19 weeks) which includes the following subject areas:
- Anatomy, Physiology and Medical Terminology
- Infection Control, HIPAA, OSHA and other applicable regulatory requirements of the medical office
- Office administrative procedures: medical records, filing, electronic PMS such as Medisoft, office machines and telephone
- Clinical procedures common to the outpatient medical office
- Supervises students, conducts classroom instruction and practical exercises, maintains a safe environment conducive to learning, maintains classroom facilities
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience teaching the subject matter
- Experience teaching adult learners
- Three (3) years’ experience working as a Medical Assistant
- Ability to teach in Edison, New Brunswick, or Perth Amboy
- Possesses and maintains current certification as a Medical Assistant (MA) or as a healthcare provider with a license/certification beyond MA
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Experience teaching in higher education
- Experience/certification in phlebotomy and/or EKG

WDLL is currently seeking a Medical Assistant instructor to teach in person, days at the Edison, New Brunswick and Perth Amboy campuses. Please note that this is a pooled position for instructors. Completed applications will enable hiring officials to contact you when a hiring need arises.
