Role Overview

The Product Integrity Manager ensures that every product meets the company’s standards for finish quality, functional performance, safety, and regulatory compliance
. This role requires a deep understanding of how each product is designed to work—inside and out—and full ownership of maintaining product integrity from development through production and post-launch.

Core Responsibilities Product Performance & Functional Understanding
  • Become the internal expert on how each product works, including mechanisms, materials, and engineering constraints.
  • Review product design, drawings, and samples to ensure functional intent is met.
  • Conduct performance tests to verify reliability, durability, and ease of use.
  • Identify potential failure points and implement corrective actions with suppliers.
Quality Assurance & Finish Standards
  • Define and maintain finish/appearance standards across all product lines.
  • Approve production samples, pre-production (PP) samples, and golden samples.
  • Manage QC protocols, testing procedures, and inspection checklists.
  • Analyze defects and customer feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Work with factories to resolve quality issues and prevent reoccurrence.
Packaging & Shipping Integrity
  • Oversee packaging to ensure product protection, shipping efficiency, and customer experience.
Compliance & Certification
  • Ensure products meet all required safety, plumbing, electrical, environmental, and durability standards (e.g., UPC, cUPC, NSF, EPA, ADA, Prop 65).
  • Coordinate third-party testing and certification processes.
  • Monitor regulatory changes and update internal requirements accordingly.
  • Maintain documentation for audits and retailer compliance programs.
  • Work closely with overseas factories to enforce quality expectations.
  • Conduct remote or on-site audits to ensure manufacturing capability and consistency.
  • Review materials, components, and processes for compliance with company standards.
  • Implement corrective action plans and enforce accountability with suppliers.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
  • Partner with Product Development, Engineering, and Creative to align on design intent and product storytelling.
  • Work with Operations and Customer Service to analyze defect trends and coordinate improvements.
  • Support Marketing by ensuring product performance claims are accurate and substantiated.
What You Bring
  • 5–10+ years in product quality, product engineering, or product compliance—ideally in fixtures, hardware, consumer goods, or manufacturing
    .
  • Strong knowledge of materials, mechanical systems, finishes, and manufacturing processes.
  • Experience with third-party testing labs and regulatory bodies.
  • Proven capability evaluating products for function, safety, and durability.
  • Familiarity with QC tools: inspection reports, AQL standards, defect analysis.
  • Knowledge of compliance standards such as cUPC, NSF, EPA Water Sense, ADA, etc.
  • Strong problem-solving and root-cause analysis abilities.
  • Excellent communication with suppliers and internal teams.
  • High attention to detail and consistency.
  • Ability to own a category end-to-end.
