Environmental Engineer

Job Summary

Mid-Level Environmental Engineer with a focus on water and wastewater systems.

• Creates basic to moderate complexity water and wastewater treatment facilities, water and sewer systems, pipelines, pump stations, remediation sites, solid waste facilities and other engineering designs to meet client project requirements.
• Reviews draft designs and reports for compliance with federal, state and local regulations and ensures firm policies and practices are followed.
• Performs site reviews and studies, as needed, to ensure designs are aligned with location specifications and updates design requirements as necessary.
• Performs water quality analyses and modeling.
• Contributes to the firm’s Technical Knowledge Management by developing white papers and technical design documentation of new or special case designs, studies, etc., and submits technical papers and designs for publishing to technical journals.
• Collaborates with sales staff to create proposals in response to current and potential client requests for proposals (RFPs) and reviews draft proposals for adherence to regulations and best practices.
• Meets with current and potential clients to review their current and future design needs; attends conferences, symposia, etc., to improve the visibility of the firm’s products and services in collaboration with applicable sales staff.
• Provides technical guidance and training to more junior staff; mentors and may supervise the work of junior engineers on project work.

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or Chemical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3 years of related experience.
• Performs other duties as required.
• Domestic and/or international travel may be required; travel frequency is contingent on specific duties and project demands and is estimated at 10%.
• Equivalent additional directly related experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.

• Expert knowledge of computer assisted design and drafting (CADD) 3D and 4D software.
• Solid knowledge of engineering principles of design.
• Expert knowledge of Microsoft business software (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Minimum: $78,624;
Maximum: $129,771.
