Job SummaryForest Electric NJ seeks a Senior Electrical Estimator with experience in electrical power and lighting systems, medium voltage substation and distribution, pharmaceuticals, hospitals and/or data centers to assist the company in its Edison, NJ location in meeting its goals and objectives. The role may also involve project‑management support and collaboration with other employees.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities- Produce estimates and proposals for electrical power and lighting systems.
- Apply knowledge and expertise in estimating electrical systems.
- Prepare quantity take‑offs and detailed estimates, assigning material and labor values.
- Acquire vendor pricing on specialty materials, equipment and systems.
- Assist in lead estimate review; follow up on cost trends, forecast versus final estimate.
- Evaluate and assist with subcontractor and vendor scope and pricing review.
- Participate in preparation, review and recommendation of contract scope changes and field‐related change orders.
- Coordinate in project kick‑off and hand‑over meetings.
- Commute to field locations as required; maintain regular, predictable on‑site attendance.
- Ten (10) or more years of experience estimating electrical construction projects.
- Electrical Engineering degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
- Demonstrated experience in electrical power and lighting, preferably with medium voltage substation and distribution, pharmaceuticals, hospitals and/or data centers.
- Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
- Experience in hard‑bid contract work as well as conceptual estimating.
- Working knowledge of Con Est estimating software is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
- Long periods sitting in front of a computer.
- Regular use of keyboard and mouse.
- Occasional commuting to construction site locations and site navigation.
Work may involve outdoor sites with wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical and electrical parts, high or precarious areas, dust, fumes, airborne particles, and variable weather. Noise levels are usually moderate to loud. The environment may expose employees to heat, cold, electrical shock, and vibration.

Geographic DisclosureCompensation Range: $150,000 - $200,000
Other Compensation:
Position is bonus eligible.
