Traffic Engineer

Job Title

Prepare traffic signal, signing and striping, pavement marking, electrical, and lighting plans for transportation and roadway improvement projects.

Conduct traffic capacity and operational analyses for intersections, corridors, and transportation networks.

Perform traffic forecasting studies to evaluate future traffic conditions and support transportation planning efforts.

Collect, analyze, and interpret traffic data, including traffic volumes, turning movements, speeds, and roadway performance metrics.

Analyze crash data to identify safety concerns, determine trends, and develop recommendations for roadway and intersection improvements.

Develop and apply transportation simulation models to evaluate existing and proposed traffic operations.

Prepare technical reports, engineering studies, and supporting documentation for public and private sector transportation projects.

Experience preparing traffic signal, signing and striping, pavement marking, electrical, and lighting plans.

Proficiency in traffic capacity and operational analysis.

Experience with traffic forecasting, traffic data interpretation, and crash data analysis.

Knowledge of transportation simulation tools such as Synchro, Sim Traffic, VISSIM, SIDRA, or HCS.

Strong analytical, technical writing, and problem-solving skills.

This is a permanent position based out of Edison, NJ.

The pay range for this position is $95,000.00 - $/yr.
