Associate Retail Travel Agent

Overview

Be a AAA Retail Travel Agent and help clients craft unforgettable domestic and international travel experiences, leveraging AAA’s travel strategy and exclusive benefits.

• Create personalized travel itineraries for clients, covering cruises, land tours, flights, hotels, and more.
• Build and maintain long‑term client relationships, turning first‑time customers into loyal travelers.
• Process bookings, payments, and travel documentation while ensuring compliance with ARC, DOT, and AAA policies.
• Educate clients on AAA benefits, including exclusive travel perks and the AAA‑branded credit card.
• Handle client concerns under management guidance.
• Attend promotional events, training, and familiarization trips to stay current in the industry.

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s degree or travel school graduate preferred).
• At least 1 year of retail experience; 1 year of travel agency or comparable travel experience preferred.
• Excellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with travel booking systems and web‑based applications; knowledge of geography.
• Certified Travel Associate (CTA) designation required within 2 years of hire.
• Successful completion of pre‑employment and post‑employment background screenings; ability to obtain any required membership or license.

• Base salary: $18.82 – $29.31 per hour, adjusted for experience and location.
• Incentive pay: $550 – $1,100 per month after ~6 months.
• Paid time off: 3+ weeks accrued in the first year, plus additional PTO and paid parental leave.

• Free AAA membership, continuing‑education reimbursement up to $5,250 per year.

Monday–Friday, 8 AM–6 PM;
Saturday, 8 AM–5 PM (37.5‑hour work week). Sunday off.
