Commercial Credit Analyst

Our client is seeking a Commercial Credit Underwriter to support the lending team in evaluating the creditworthiness of diverse commercial borrowers. This role focuses on middle-market C&I and CRE loan requests, ensuring adherence to bank policy and regulatory standards.

• Credit Analysis: Perform comprehensive analysis of financial statements, tax returns, and cash flow for C&I, CRE, and small business loan requests.
• Risk Assessment: Identify key risks and mitigating factors; assign appropriate internal risk ratings based on bank methodology.
• Underwriting Memoranda: Prepare detailed credit approval packages for loan committees, including debt service coverage (DSC) and loan-to-value (LTV) calculations.
• Due Diligence: Review third-party reports including appraisals, environmental reports, and credit inquiries.
• Portfolio Management: Assist in annual reviews, covenant tracking, and monitoring of borrowing base certificates.
• Collaboration: Partner with Relationship Managers to structure deals and request necessary documentation from clients.

• Experience: 3+ years of commercial credit underwriting or analysis experience within a community or regional bank.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or a related field.

  Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and common loan origination software (e.g., Sageworks/Abrigo, Moody’s).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of GAAP, commercial lending regulations, and NJ-market CRE trends.
• Communication: Ability to articulate credit risks and deal structures clearly in both written and verbal formats.
