Business Funding Underwriter

Trueline's client, a rapidly growing alternative lending firm, is seeking a Business Funding Underwriter to join their team in Edison, NJ. This is an opportunity for someone with Merchant Cash Advance (MCA) or alternative lending experience to play a critical role in evaluating funding opportunities and matching deals with the right lending partners. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast‑paced environment, understands lender appetites, and enjoys making funding decisions that directly impact company growth.

• Review and evaluate business funding applications
• Analyze bank statements, financial documents, and business performance metrics
• Assess risk and determine funding eligibility
• Match opportunities with appropriate direct lending partners
• Work closely with sales teams to structure and fund deals
• Maintain strong relationships with lenders and funding sources
• Monitor lender guidelines and approval criteria
• Manage a high volume of applications in a fast‑paced environment
• Present recommendations and funding options to internal stakeholders
• Support company growth through sound underwriting decisions

• 1+ year of experience in Merchant Cash Advance (MCA), alternative lending, revenue‑based financing, or small business funding
• Experience working directly with lenders and funding sources
• Strong understanding of underwriting principles and risk assessment
• Knowledge of lender guidelines and approval processes
• Ability to analyze financial documents and business performance
• Experience managing a high volume of funding applications
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work onsite in Edison, NJ Monday through Friday

• Experience as an MCA sales representative with underwriting exposure
• Existing relationships with direct lenders
• Experience funding deals through multiple lender channels
• Knowledge of SBA lending products
• Experience with CRM and lending technology platforms
• Strong understanding of alternative finance products and structures

• Base compensation of $90,000-$120,000
