Responsibilities
  • Perform mask fitting and implement therapeutic interventions with CPAP, BIPAP, and O2, determining when to initiate therapy during the sleep study. Explain the procedure and prepare the patient for titration, documenting all levels and changes. Prepare detailed reports for physician prescription and disinfect all equipment after each use.
  • Review patient history, medication, and study protocol; verify correct patient identity. Apply the 10/20 System and place electrodes using the paste method with impedances below 5K ohms. Acquire polysomnographic data, making adjustments to ensure artifact-free study and following protocols for MSLT, MWT, Parasomnia, Seizure, CPAP, split night, and O2 studies. Perform patient bio‑calibrations, follow lights out/on procedures, and document observations every 15 minutes.
  • Score sleep/wake stages and clinical events (respiratory, cardiac, limb movements, arousals) using AASM standards, generating accurate reports for physician interpretation.
  • Work cooperatively with staff across departments, attend staff meetings and in‑services, seek learning opportunities, and respond constructively to feedback. Demonstrate commitment to the team with regular attendance and appropriate social/communication skills.
  • Understand and observe Right to Know, OSHA standards, universal precautions, and all applicable federal and state regulations. Maintain a safe work environment and follow JFK's emergency response behaviors.
  • Other duties and projects as assigned.
  • Adhere to HMH Organizational competencies and standards of behavior.
Qualifications
  • High School diploma, general equivalency diploma (GED), or equivalent program. College degree preferred or successful completion of a polysomnography program of at least one year.
  • Minimum of one year experience as a Polysomnographic Trainee with documented proficiency in all required competencies.
  • Experienced in sleep equipment and CPAP equipment.
  • Polysomnography Technologist License.
  • AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Compensation

Starting at $37.69 hourly. The posted rate is a reasonable good faith estimate of the minimum base pay for this role at the time of posting in accordance with the New Jersey Pay Transparency Act and does not reflect the full value of the market-competitive total rewards package.

In addition to the base compensation, this full‑time position includes comprehensive benefits: health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits.
