Position Summary

We are seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to help cover Interventional Radiology on an as-needed basis
. The APP will work in accordance with the radiologists to provide exceptional patient care and assist the radiologists in day‑to‑day clinical operations. Must be able to adapt to various clinical situations and perform a variety of procedures. The APP must interpret information to identify each patient’s needs relative to age and involve other care partners (radiologist, referring providers, staff support) as needed to ensure appropriate clinical services.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform procedures under general and proximate supervision within the scope of practice of a radiology APP and as outlined on the delineation of privileges.
  • Assist with training of new APP hires, including clinical responsibilities and procedural skill set.
  • Collaborate and actively engage with radiologists and hospital staff to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes.
  • Manage patients through advanced decision making, interpretation of laboratory values, assessment of radiological studies, clinical evaluations and procedures; perform initial consultation, follow‑up visits, hospital rounds, and obtain majority of H&P for all radiology procedures.
  • Serve as an educational and clinical resource to staff, patients, and their families.
  • Assist with formulation of policies and protocols related to the APP team and clinical workflow based on established guidelines; participate in APP panel committees to support this process.
  • Assume other duties as assigned by the clinical leadership team.
  • Participate in research initiatives for the development of protocols and/or data analysis.
  • Organize time and workload to manage all service lines.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Education/Licensing/Certification
    • Advanced Practice Provider
    • Certification by the NCCPA, ACLS, BLS, PALS, NCMB, DEA
    • Licensure permits treatment of all ages
  • Experience (years and type)
    • 1-3 years’ experience
    • Interventional Radiology experience with clinical procedures and inpatient/outpatient consultations preferred
  • Knowledge and Skills
    • Knowledge of company and compliance policies and clinical procedures
    • Effective utilization of clinical equipment to include US/CT (preferred)
    • Adept with EMR and dictation system
    • Analytic ability to evaluate and determine health status of patient and implement plan of care
    • Ability to perform procedures requiring fine motor skills, including repetitive hand work
    • Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal skills
    • Apply critical‑thinking and problem‑solving skills to function effectively in a dynamic and often changing work environment across multiple hospital facilities

Physical Requirements & Work Environment
  • Full day of walking and standing
  • Lifting up to 25 lbs.
  • Radiology department and outpatient clinic located within hospital; potential work at outpatient centers. Exposure to radiation, infectious disease, contaminated equipment, chemical hazards.
