Job Summary:
The CT Scan Technologist is responsible for performing advanced computed tomography procedures, producing detailed sectional and three-dimensional images for diagnostic interpretation. They assist with interventional and therapeutic imaging processes ensuring patient safety and image quality.
Responsibilities:
- Perform complex CT scans using appropriate protocols and techniques.
- Review patient clinical histories, ensure proper documentation, and scan information into PACS.
- Prepare and review contrast questionnaires, administer contrast media as prescribed, and verify exam appropriateness through communication with physicians.
- Call physicians to clarify prescriptions and verify insurance authorizations; schedule external studies in EPIC.
- Evaluate radiographs for diagnostic quality, proper identification, and image accuracy.
- Prepare patients for scans, including shielding and immobilization, and monitor for adverse reactions during procedures.
Qualifications:
- Hold a graduate degree from a Radiologic Technologist program and NJ DEP Diagnostic Radiography License.
- Achieve ARRT (R) certification within 12 months of hire.
- Possess at least 2 years of CT experience; 5+ years preferred, with proficiency in GE equipment, Epic EMR, and Fuji PACS.
- Demonstrate extensive knowledge of anatomy, physiology, radiological positioning, and CT hardware/software.
- Maintain current BLS certification and CEU credits.
