Make a difference as a Student Assistance Counselor in a high school setting, providing crucial support and guidance throughout the full school year. This full-time contract opportunity is ideal for dedicated School Psychologists who are passionate about fostering student well-being and promoting a positive school environment.
Responsibilities include offering individual and group counseling to students, collaborating with educational staff and families, and implementing programs to address behavioral, emotional, and academic needs. You'll play an essential role in crisis intervention, prevention, and student advocacy, ensuring each learner is equipped to handle personal and academic challenges.
Key
Qualifications:
- Valid School Psychologist certification required
- Previous experience as a School Psychologist or in a similar counseling role, preferably within a high school environment
- Strong understanding of adolescent development, crisis intervention, and counseling techniques
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Experience developing and facilitating wellness and assistance programs
- Adept at documentation and maintaining confidential records
- Passion for helping students achieve social, emotional, and academic success
Core Responsibilities:
- Provide counseling and support to students facing personal, social, or academic difficulties
- Develop and implement individualized intervention plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and families
- Conduct assessments and interpret results to guide effective support strategies
- Lead prevention and wellness initiatives addressing issues such as substance abuse or mental health
- Assist in crisis situations, providing immediate support as needed
- Maintain accurate records and comply with school and district reporting protocols
