Certified Hand Therapist

We are seeking a Certified Hand Therapist (CHT). The CHT can be either a licensed occupational therapist (OT) or physical therapist (PT) with advanced clinical expertise in treating conditions affecting the hand, wrist, elbow, and upper extremity. The CHT evaluates, develops, and implements individualized treatment plans to restore function, reduce pain, improve mobility, and help patients return to daily activities, work, and recreational pursuits.

• Evaluate patients with hand and upper extremity injuries, disorders, and post-surgical conditions.
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on patient needs and physician referrals.
• Perform therapeutic interventions including edema management, scar management, and manual therapy.
• Design, fabricate, and fit custom orthoses/splints.
• Monitor patient progress and modify treatment plans as necessary.
• Educate patients and caregivers on home exercise programs and injury prevention.
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation in compliance with healthcare regulations.
• Collaborate with physicians, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and continuing education activities.

• Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT) or Physical Therapist (PT).
• Certified Hand Therapist (CHT) credential from the Hand Therapy Certification Commission.
• Minimum clinical experience required to maintain CHT certification.
• Strong knowledge of upper extremity anatomy, biomechanics, and rehabilitation techniques.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Experience in outpatient orthopedic or hand therapy settings.
• Experience with custom splint fabrication.
• Knowledge of post-operative rehabilitation protocols.

• Advanced clinical assessment and treatment skills.
• Splinting and orthotic fabrication expertise.
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Patient education and counseling skills.
• Time management and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

• Ability to assist patients with therapeutic exercises and activities.
• Manual dexterity for splint fabrication and hands‑on treatment.
• Prolonged periods of standing, walking, and performing repetitive hand movements.

OIBortho, LLC is required by New Jersey law to include the salary range for this role. The hiring range for this role is $19.00 – $24.00 per hour. The range for this role is typically determined by several factors, including the geography in which the selected candidate will be working, and alignment with qualifications and experience. Certain roles may also be eligible for additional compensation (bonus, etc) and/or benefits.

In addition, full-time employees are eligible for standard benefits package including paid time off, medical, dental, vison and retirement plan.
