POSITION SUMMARY: The Patient Accounts Billing Specialist is responsible for verifying insurance eligibility and benefits, obtaining prior authorizations, and maintaining accurate client account information. This position works closely with clinical, administrative, and billing teams to resolve reimbursement issues, ensure compliance with payer requirements, and support a seamless financial experience for clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, organized, and committed to supporting access to behavioral health services through effective revenue cycle management.

QUALIFICATIONS:
- Two (2) years' experience in billing/Accounts Receivable
- High School Diploma
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Three (3) years or above experience in billing and one year supervisory.
WORK REQUIREMENTS:
- This in an in person position and requires you to be at Eatontown NJ office location.
- Position requires sitting and performing repetitive movement while using the computer during a portion of the day.
- Computer literate. Proficiency with MS Office.
- Daily location assignment contingent upon client benefit and authorization needs.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/PERFORMANCE OBJECTIVES:
Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Verify client insurance eligibility and benefits.
- Obtain and manage insurance authorizations.
- Process and follow up on PE, NJMHAPP, and subsidy applications.
- Collect financial information for clients receiving subsidized services.
- Work collaboratively with the Billing team to resolve billing issues promptly and accurately.
- Support additional billing and revenue cycle functions as assigned.
- Works cooperatively with other staff and supervisors.
- Seeks and uses supervision in a professional manner.
- Attends scheduled staff meetings.
- Provides additional related services assigned by the Patient Accounts Supervisor.
- Abides by Agency policies and procedures.
- Informs Supervisor of relevant issues and information.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by the employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The position requires prolonged sitting, some bending and stretching. Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate standard office equipment is required. Employees must have normal range of hearing and eyesight to record, prepare, and communicate information pertaining to this position. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 30 pounds.
