Vice President, Human Resources – Employee Relations
Location: Somerset County, NJ (Hybrid – 3 days onsite)
OverviewOur client is seeking a hands‑on Vice President of Human Resources out of the insurance industry or corporate services to join a growing organization during a period of leadership transition. This role is ideal for a practical, execution‑focused leader who can operate at both a strategic and tactical level, with a strong emphasis on employee relations and performance management.
Key Responsibilities- Lead complex employee relations matters, including investigations, documentation, and sensitive workplace issues across a multi‑state workforce
- Drive performance management processes, including annual reviews, performance improvement plans, and manager coaching
- Partner with leadership on talent planning, workforce performance trends, and organizational effectiveness
- Enhance manager engagement through structured processes and ongoing support
- Support and build learning and development initiatives, including leadership training and coaching programs
- Oversee and optimize HR operations and systems, including performance and employee data management
- Prior experience within the insurance industry or Corporate Services is required
- Prior experience in a focused Employee Relations role
- Deep expertise in employee relations, multi‑state HR compliance, and performance management
- Proven ability to manage complex situations and lead difficult conversations with professionalism and clarity
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail, particularly around documentation
- Hands‑on leadership style with a focus on execution and accountability
- Hybrid schedule with regular in‑office presence aligned to leadership team
- Collaborative HR function supporting a growing employee population
- Base salary: $175,000 – $200,000 + bonus
- Eligible for long‑term incentive plan (LTIP)
