The HR/Office Manager oversees daily administrative operations and provides comprehensive support in human resources, safety, information technology, and accounts payable. This role ensures efficient office management, coordinates employee onboarding, maintains compliance with employment laws, and supports workplace safety initiatives. The position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily office administration, ensuring smooth operations and supporting various departments including HR, safety, IT, and accounts payable.
- Coordinate and execute recruiting, hiring, onboarding, and orientation processes, including job postings, interviews, and new hire documentation.
- Maintain compliance with federal and state employment laws, develop and implement personnel policies, and educate employees on workplace expectations.
- Support employee relations, performance management, compensation administration, and serve as a point of contact for workplace concerns.
- Administer benefits programs, maintain accurate benefits documentation, and assist with open enrollment and employee communications.
- Support and maintain workplace safety programs, ensure OSHA and state safety compliance, and coordinate incident reporting and corrective actions.
- Provide basic IT support, assist with accounts payable processes, and maintain organized and confidential records across departments.
- Collaborate with leadership to improve administrative processes, support company initiatives, and foster a positive office culture.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management or related discipline preferred;
Professional in Human Resources (PHR) certification a plus. - Minimum of 5 years of experience in workforce planning, employment, employee relations, training, compensation administration, recruitment, and hiring selection.
- Advanced knowledge of employment labor laws and workplace safety practices, including OSHA regulations and incident documentation.
- Intermediate knowledge of government benefit laws, contract and policy administration, and experience with accounts payable and general accounting procedures.
- Strong customer service skills and proficiency in basic computer functions such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, and internet usage.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills, with the ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information.
- Ability to read, interpret, and write professional correspondence, analyze business information, and present information effectively to individuals and groups.
- Demonstrated ability to multitask, adapt to change, work independently, meet tight deadlines, and resolve problems efficiently.
