Overview
Our Network Engineer I provides functional and empirical analysis related to the installation and implementation of the network infrastructure. Performs installation and maintenance of network devices, including restoration of hardware and software. Works with end users, team members, and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues. May employ tools to achieve high availability and efficient utilization of LAN/WAN. Reviews progress and evaluates results.
Works under supervision; handles basic issues and refers more complex issues to higher-level team members.

Responsibilities- Follow directions to perform maintenance of network devices including restoration of hardware and software.
- Follow directions on how to conduct research and evaluate network technology.
- Work with end users, team members, and vendors to resolve network hardware and software issues.
- Install, support, and test Local and Wide Area Networks.
- Support infrastructure including: switches, routers, wireless, and firewalls.
- Administer end-user training to achieve efficient utilization of LAN/WAN (where applicable).
- Respond to and resolve help desk tickets.
- Participate in project management activities as assigned.
- Participate in Network Team On-Call program.
- Adhere to the Medical Center s Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
Skills and Abilities
Required
- Bachelor s degree in computer science, systems management, information systems, or a related field, and/or applicable technical certificate and/or equivalent related experience.
- Beginning to working knowledge of subject matter.
- Beginning to working knowledge of current and emerging networking technologies including TCP/IP and LAN/WAN technologies.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
Skills and Abilities
Preferred
- One or more years of prior experience in an IT-related discipline.
- Healthcare experience.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA).
- Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP).
Minimum rate of $82,513.60 annually. HMH is committed to pay equity and transparency for our team members.
