The Applications Analyst IV gathers business requirements, conducts needs assessments, and develops functional specifications and builds to ensure that developed information technology solutions support business objectives. This level works independently and acts as a resource for lower level Application Analysts. Candidates need to be certified in Epic Care Ambulatory with additional module certifications such as Epic MyChart, Epic Healthy Planet, and Epic Transplant (Phoenix) beneficial.
This is a hybrid role with a schedule that includes one monthly onsite team meeting and onsite technical dress rehearsals testing across New Jersey at different clinic locations.
- Mentor lower level Application Analysts.
- Lead installation, upgrade, and configuration of applications and validate work performed by lower level analysts.
- Coordinate end user support activities.
- Attend, participate, coordinate, and run meetings throughout the facility.
- Provide go‑live support for new applications, modules, and functionality.
- Analyze necessary application modifications and coordinate with IT associates or vendor.
- Analyse business/clinical needs and requirements.
- Interpret end user requirements and recommend optimal solutions.
- Evaluate operational workflow applied to the system.
- Create system specifications from user requirements.
- Create test plans, test new systems, version upgrades and system modifications.
- Document all testing outcomes. Review lower level analysts’ test plans and outcomes for consistency and thoroughness.
- Implement, troubleshoot, and support applications.
- Present oral and written communications to project teams and other departments.
- Handle complex issues.
- Update system, operational, and department documentation.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Provide on‑call support for applications.
- Provide input into policy and procedure redesign.
- Serve as preceptor for new staff in the department.
- Perform other related duties incidental to the work described herein.
- Lift a minimum of 20 lbs, push and pull a minimum of 20 lbs and stand a minimum of 4 hours a day.
- Adhere to the Medical Centers Organizational Competencies and Standards of Behavior.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience.
- Minimum of 4 years of IT experience (preferably in healthcare or related field) or 3 years of IT experience and 2 years of clinical experience.
- Expert knowledge of subject matter.
- Ability to organize and coordinate the actions of small groups to achieve departmental and organizational goals.
- Works independently and effectively manages time unsupervised.
- Strong desktop skills including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Outlook.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Creates and maintains clear, concise documentation.
- Collaborates with other team members across the department.
- Demonstrates self‑direction.
- Bachelor’s degree.
- Epic and/or other relevant certification(s) or other relevant applications experience.
