Aerospace & Defense Business Data Consultant

Seeking an experienced Business Data Consultant to lead regulated data governance and enterprise data migration for Aerospace & Defense transformation programs. The role focuses on export-control compliance, data governance, migration strategy, and AI-ready data foundations across enterprise platforms.

• Lead data discovery, classification, and governance across Product, Enterprise, Production, and In-Service Asset data domains.
• Define governance frameworks for export-controlled, business-critical, archive, and retention data.
• Govern enterprise data migration across SAP, PLM, MES, Maximo, Salesforce, GTS, and Document Management platforms.
• Partner with Business, Export Control, Security, Legal, and IT teams to embed compliance into migration and transformation initiatives.
• Ensure governance for classification management, BOM propagation, U.S.
  
  -origin content, controlled documents, and role- and nationality-based access.
• Define migration validation, reconciliation, compliance testing, auditability, business sign-off, and cutover readiness.
• Preserve metadata, data lineage, traceability, document relationships, version history, and audit evidence.
• Develop testing strategies covering export-control compliance, access controls, business continuity, synthetic test data, and audit readiness.
• Establish AI-ready data foundations through metadata, taxonomy, lineage, classification governance, and cross-system data alignment.
• Define AI governance controls for regulated and export-controlled data and develop reusable governance frameworks and best practices.

• 8+ years of experience in Aerospace & Defense, Manufacturing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or Aftermarket transformation programs.
• 5+ years leading enterprise data migration across SAP, PLM, MES, Maximo, Salesforce, GTS, and Document Management platforms.
• Strong knowledge of Product, Enterprise, Production, and In-Service Asset data domains.
• Working knowledge of export-control regulations including ITAR, EAR, ECCN, USML, Dual-Use, Military Classification, U.S.
  
  -Origin Content, CGP, and Deemed Export.
• Experience with Material, BOM, Supplier, Customer, Finance, Asset, and Technical Document data.
• Expertise in data discovery, classification, metadata tagging, lineage, audit traceability, and migration governance.
• Experience with compliance-by-design, controlled access models, and AI governance for regulated data environments.

• Strong stakeholder management, presentation, and communication skills.
• Ability to collaborate across Business, IT, Security, Legal, and Compliance teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and enterprise transformation leadership skills.
