Job Description

Responsibilities:

• The Strategic Sourcing Manager – Electro-Mechanical Category will develop the category strategy for the assigned industry segment and drive implementation across the GSG/CSS segment.
• Develop commodity strategies to meet future needs, drive best practices, and deliver robust year‑on‑year productivity and direct material cost gains across the category.
• Partner with key stakeholders – new product development, life cycle engineering, operations, product management engineering, quality, finance, and planning – to ensure the Electro‑Mechanical Supply Chain incorporates strategies that support product quality, delivery, and cost efficiency.
• Develop and implement strong business relationships to establish and manage supplier partnerships and improve the efficiency of Supply Chain and R&D.
• Lead strategic direction and execution in sourcing the Electro‑Mechanical Category to balance cost, cycle time, and quality.
• Lead best‑in‑class sourcing activities including commodity management.
• Deliver year‑on‑year productivity savings measured by cost reductions.
• Identify opportunities to upgrade supplier skills through technology, process improvements, lean practices, and more.
• Manage supplier capabilities, including capacity planning, tooling and resource investments, and inventory management.
• Participate in industry research and market surveys to stay current with best‑in‑class sourcing practices and customer demands.
• Perform overall systems capability analysis, partner with franchise‑based electro‑mechanical leads to achieve business objectives, and represent GSG in executive‑level supplier dealings.
• Work with Advanced Sourcing Leads to enable a robust pipeline of materials for new projects, monitor and benchmark the existing supply base globally, and provide commodity guidance on cost, futures, and availability.
• Lead the assigned industry segment within GSG to achieve best‑in‑class performance in the industry.

• Minimum of 5‑7 years relevant experience in a supply chain or technical role within a high‑volume manufacturing environment.
• Sourcing or manufacturing experience in the electronics or electro‑mechanical industry.
• Three years of experience in Electro‑Mechanical Category sourcing preferred.
• Experience with Electro‑Mechanical Category materials and design is desirable.
• Six Sigma Green Belt or higher certification preferred.
• Proven ability to influence and collaborate.
• Excellent interpersonal and negotiating skills.
• Leadership skills: setting direction, influencing, goal alignment, leading and influencing others in a matrix organization.

• BS Degree in Business, Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field.
• CPIM (Certified in Production & Inventory Management) or CPM (Certified Purchasing Manager) preferred.
