Ocean Import Coordinator | New Jersey | Salary up to $65,000

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a minimum of 2 years of ocean import freight forwarding experience who enjoys managing shipments from origin through final delivery while providing exceptional customer service.

Working in a fast-paced environment, you'll be responsible for coordinating international ocean import shipments, ensuring compliance with customs and shipping regulations, and building strong relationships with customers, overseas agents, and carriers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate end-to-end ocean import shipments from booking through final delivery.
  • Communicate with overseas agents, steamship lines, trucking companies, and customers.
  • Prepare and review shipping documentation including Bills of Lading, Arrival Notices, and Delivery Orders.
  • Monitor shipment progress and proactively provide shipment updates.
  • Coordinate customs clearance with brokers and ensure all required documentation is received.
  • Arrange deliveries with trucking companies and warehouses.
  • Resolve shipment delays, exceptions, and customer inquiries promptly.
  • Ensure all files are accurately maintained within the freight forwarding system.
  • Process billing, verify vendor invoices, and complete customer invoicing.
  • Maintain compliance with company procedures and international shipping regulations.
Requirements
  • Minimum 2 years of Ocean Import experience working for an international freight forwarder.
  • Strong understanding of international ocean import operations and documentation.
  • Experience coordinating shipments from origin through final delivery.
  • Knowledge of customs clearance procedures and import documentation.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple shipments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail.
