Job Summary

Forest Electric NJ seeks a Senior Project Manager for our Edison, NJ office to support the Company in meeting its objectives and goals by overseeing assigned commercial electrical construction projects at various locations within New Jersey and taking appropriate actions to ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and with defined resources.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
  • Execute and manage terms of project contracts.
  • Monitor project budgets and labor costs.
  • Monitor and prepare project schedules with milestone deadlines to be achieved.
  • Partner with superintendents, engineers, and estimators to ensure a complete scope of work is defined.
  • Prepare and present computer‑generated spreadsheets and reports.
  • Maintain regular communication and collaboration with project superintendents by spending time on and touring assigned job sites.
  • Prepare and manage communications with general contractors or construction managers for assigned projects.
  • Recommend methods and/or improvements based on project needs and resource capabilities.
  • Review, analyze, and make recommendations on project change orders.
  • Estimate/price change orders as required.
  • Analyze plans and subsequent construction documents to confirm project requirements and opportunities for value engineering.
  • Prepare documents for billing purposes and coordinate with accounting personnel.
  • Report and resolve customer concerns and/or grievances as needed.
  • Attend and conduct meetings as required.
  • Comply with all company operating policies, procedures, and safety programs as established.
  • Frequent travel to various project sites is required.
  • Regular, predictable, and reliable on‑site attendance is an essential function of the job.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 10+ years of experience in a high‑volume commercial electrical contracting environment.
  • Experience with medium‑voltage substation and distribution, preferably in pharmaceuticals, hospitals, and/or data centers.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
  • Proven communication and interpersonal skills.
Work Environment

While visiting job site locations, the employee may be required to work outdoors, be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; moving mechanical and electrical parts; high, precarious places; dust, fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outside weather conditions, extended exposure to sunlight; cold and heat; risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
