Job Description & How to Apply Below
Position: VP of Field Operations, 2 Hour Learning - $200,000/year USD

You enter a facility and immediately recognize what's wrong — the ceiling tile hanging loose with no work order, the HVAC unit that's been making noise for days, the landscaping contractor who completed half the scope and submitted a full invoice. You don't wait for parent feedback. You resolve issues before they become visible.

That reflex defines this position. 2 Hour Learning runs premium K–12 facilities where tuition‑paying families expect an environment that is safe, predictable, and inspection‑ready at all times — not only when executives arrive. You will maintain that benchmark throughout the Northeast:
Manhattan serving as your anchor location, supplemented by routine travel to campuses in CT, MA, and PA. Your output determines whether a campus maintains its premium standard or quietly deteriorates between leadership visits.

Year one emphasizes establishing protocols and correcting vendor relationships — documenting operational readiness criteria, implementing audit cycles, terminating underperforming contractors, and training Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to execute a consistent operating model. As the regional footprint expands and your systems mature, your focus transitions to sustained regional oversight: you become the field leader the organization relies on during new openings, crisis response, or protocol revisions.

This is an in‑person operations role. If you prefer remote oversight through reporting tools, this position is not appropriate. If you want direct accountability for the daily premium experience across 25+ campuses — and the authority to deliver it — continue reading.

What You Will Be Doing
  • Executing scheduled physical audits at Northeast campuses against documented protocols for cleanliness, HVAC function, safety compliance, security systems, signage, landscaping, furniture condition, and tour‑readiness — then converting observations into confirmed corrective action
  • Responding to facility incidents and urgent requests, coordinating contractor response, and verifying resolution before closing tickets (urgent within 24 hours, standard within 1 week)
  • Overseeing regional vendor compliance with service‑level agreements, terminating consistently underperforming contractors, renegotiating contract terms, and conducting direct accountability discussions on quality and pricing
  • Establishing a weekly operational cadence with Campus Coordinators and Site Specialists to ensure uniform execution across all locations, eliminating reliance on ad hoc problem‑solving
  • Directing major capital improvement projects (HVAC replacement, interior upgrades, landscaping overhauls, AV/network installations) within timeline and budget parameters while minimizing student impact
  • Documenting enterprise‑wide operational standards and AI‑supported procurement frameworks (leveraging ticketing platforms, IoT/predictive maintenance tools, and centralized vendor management) to ensure consistency across all existing and future campuses
  • Delivering concise weekly written summaries covering regional facility quality, vendor metrics, escalated issues, and capital expenditure tracking
What You Won’t Be Doing
  • Operating remotely through dashboards — this role demands consistent physical presence at the Manhattan campus and 20–40% travel across regional locations (CT, MA, PA)
  • Leading new campus design or managing ground‑up construction projects — capital development is managed by a separate function
  • Defining company‑wide procurement policy without field validation — your standards emerge from direct site observation
  • Working within clean organizational hierarchies with direct authority over all contributors — you will establish accountability through documentation, written communication, and insistence on specific vendor commitments
  • Treating "tour-ready during leadership visits only" as acceptable — persistent problems are investigated for root causes, not repeatedly re‑submitted
  • Defaulting to reactive crisis management — the audit schedule and predictive maintenance systems are designed to surface failures before they generate complaints
