CompensationThe base hourly rate for this position is $42.33.
Key Responsibilities- Generate, read, and work from electrical schematics, sketches, or verbal instructions for assemblies and installations.
- Use current, voltage, and resistance meters and other electronic test equipment to make electrical measurements and calculations, troubleshoot power and control circuits, and document systems.
- Read and modify relay logic diagrams, microprocessor‑based controls/PLCs, and troubleshoot control logic.
- Integrate DC and AC drives with PLCs, drives, and controls to operate and improve system operations.
- Supervise small projects, work independently, and operate machine‑shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders to make repairs.
- Maintain, adjust, service, and lubricate plant equipment including production machines, mobile equipment, pumps, valves, and other process‑related equipment.
- Make repairs to plant buildings, facilities, utilities, and area systems involving plumbing, carpentry, masonry, pipe fitting, and other crafts.
- Diagnose, repair, and install power transmission components (gear boxes, couplings, chains, belts, sprockets) and pneumatic/hydraulic systems (cylinders, hoses, pumps, valves).
- Perform welding and gas cutting as required.
- Use safe working practices, report hazardous conditions, maintain a neat and orderly work area, and document work orders in SAP.
- Utilize the inventory system to track parts, assist in production line changeover and setup, and report time.
- High School Diploma with technical college certification or Associate degree in a technical discipline and 2+ years of industrial experience in mechanical/electrical repairs.
- Or 4 years of strong industrial experience in mechanical/electrical repairs in lieu of formal education.
- Experience troubleshooting PLCs and field devices.
- Experience with multi‑meters and other electronic test equipment.
- Experience operating machine‑shop equipment such as lathes, drill presses, and grinders.
- Welding, gas cutting, and fabrication experience.
- Knowledgeable in power transmission components and HVAC/hydraulics.
- Able to work safely and follow safety rules; dependable and able to follow instructions.
- Availability to work 10:00 a.m. – 6:30 p.m., Monday‑Friday, with overtime as needed.
Employees work frequently around heavy machinery with moving parts and mobile equipment. The environment is not climate controlled and may be extremely hot or cold, dirty from oils or grease, and noisy. Personal protective equipment—steel‑toed shoes, ear protection, eye protection, gloves, and high‑visibility clothing—must be worn at all times.
