The Assembly Mechanic I is a professional responsible for assembling complex mechanical systems and supporting critical build processes across multiple product lines.
Roles and Responsibilities- Assemble mechanical and pneumatic components into sub‑assemblies across multiple models in each of their respective product lines
- Ensure proper fit of all parts by drilling, grinding, or shimming to adjust to a proper fit
- Interpret and provide feedback on engineering drawings, identifying discrepancies and recommending design improvements
- Diagnose and resolve advanced mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic issues during assembly and testing
- Move large parts and machines around manufacturing floor using forklift or overhead crane
- Proven ability to lead tasks or projects and mentor less experienced team members
- 1 year+ of experience in assembly and manufacturing environment
- Ability to operate equipment, troubleshoot, and problem solve
- Organized with a strong attention to detail with a dedication to quality and safety
- Ability to frequently stand, bend, and reach
- Ability to lift, pull up, or push up to 50 pounds
- Technical school training, apprenticeship, or relevant industry certification in mechanical assembly, manufacturing, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education and hands‑on experience)
- Experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience in wastewater, industrial equipment, or heavy machinery manufacturing
- Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience (Kaizen, 5S, etc.)
