Apply for Senior Editor, The COO Club

The COO Club, part of Black & White Zebra, is seeking a Senior Editor for a full‑time, on‑site position in NJ, US. This role offers significant career growth opportunities.

About The COO Club

The COO Club is a senior media brand focused on operations leadership. It delivers peer‑driven insights, practical frameworks, executive playbooks, software guidance, events, and community‑powered experiences. The audience includes COOs, VPs of Operations, Heads of Delivery, PMO leaders, and other senior practitioners.

About the Role

As Senior Editor, you will build the brand’s editorial vision, contributor network, content formats, and audience experience. The role is an audience‑growth and editorial‑leadership position, not a traditional editing role. You’ll create engaging editorial experiences across articles, newsletters, social, video, podcasts, live streams, events, and strategic partnerships, with the goal of helping operations leaders make better decisions and adopt AI‑enabled ways of working.

Who

You Are

You understand how to create editorial brands that professionals trust and return to. You are curious about how operations leaders operate, make decisions, adopt AI, design organizations, drive efficiency, and navigate cross‑functional complexity. You can turn practitioner insight into clear, visual, engaging editorial experiences and build audience systems and community loops. You are comfortable experimenting with formats, workflows, packaging, distribution strategies, and audience experiences.

What

You'll Be Doing
  • Build engaged, community‑powered editorial experiences – Create, assign, edit, write, and publish editorial content across multiple formats. Develop content informed by real practitioner insight through interviews, contributor conversations, surveys, Q&A, and social listening. Create audience experiences focused on operational strategy, AI‑enabled workflows, organizational efficiency, cross‑functional execution, systems and tooling, and modern executive leadership. Program and support webinars, live streams, round tables, podcasts, and editorial events.

Repurpose editorial IP into newsletter blocks, social content, video clips, lead magnets, reports, and community assets. Continuously identify opportunities to increase audience participation, contribution, sharing, and return engagement.
  • Create insight‑led decision‑support content that performs – Assign, edit, write, optimize, and experiment with JTBD, workflow, systems, tools, AI, and practitioner‑led content. Build content that helps operations leaders understand what to do, how to do it, and what tools, workflows, systems, or approaches can help. Improve SEO‑driven and community‑driven content with stronger storytelling, visuals, structure, examples, CTAs, and internal journeys. Produce and improve decision‑support formats such as tools/tech roundups, benchmark reports, State of AI reports, operational playbooks, expert interviews, surveys, member exclusives, and lead magnets.

Use analytics platforms to guide optimization and experimentation. Test headlines, hooks, formats, distribution strategies, CTAs, and conversion pathways to improve performance. Monitor and report on subscriber growth, newsletter clicks, AI visibility, topical authority, engagement, and discoverability. Share learnings and playbooks across the organization.
  • Expand audience reach, relationships, and distribution – Recruit and manage contributors, including COOs, operations executives, operational SMEs, partners, and contributor voices. Build contributor content, audience, and community growth loops. Act as a visible host and guardian of the brand across all channels. Package and distribute content across newsletters, social, search, podcasts, video, community, partner, and digital PR channels. Collaborate on co‑created reports, research, surveys, multimedia initiatives, and strategic partnerships.

Represent the brand through events, panels, podcasts, conferences, and external opportunities when useful. Build and maintain reusable insight libraries containing interviews, quotes, patterns, transcripts, and community intelligence.…
