Registered Nurse - Emergency Department - Nights

About This Role

The Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department provides direct care to a variety of complex patients, focusing on achieving desired outcomes through effective coordination and collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.

• Location: Edison, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Department/Unit: Emergency Department
• Schedule: Full-time, Night shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care with strategies and interventions.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar-scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.
• Identify ethical issues in the practice setting.

Education:

• Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three years of hire

Experience:

• Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in NJ
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire
