General Surgery and Sub-specialty APN Nights

Overview

Full Time APP Night position for JFKUMC. General surgery and surgical subspecialty nights.

• Utilize a patient-centered coordinated care model with competencies in leadership, direct clinical practice, consultation/collaboration, coaching/guiding, research, and ethical decision-making.
• Collaborate with the practice/hospital team to assess, plan, and implement care for individuals with health and safety needs.
• Manage the overnight inpatient and operative needs of surgical patients in conjunction with and under the supervision of an attending physician.
• Assess and manage various patient populations, including overall management of surgical patients, ordering and interpreting diagnostic tests, and developing appropriate plans of care and therapeutic interventions.
• Maintain a collaborative, safe, high-reliability work environment focused on quality outcomes for patients and colleagues.
• Comply with state and federal regulations, network policies, NP/PA scope of practice guidelines, approved clinical privileges, and HMHN APP policy.
• Report to the department clinical lead and Director of Advanced Practice Providers. This is a full-time role with weekends and holidays on a rotational basis.

• Acute Gerontology Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a minimum of 2 years of NP/PA experience preferred.
• Education,
  
  Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  
  graduate of an NLN/AACN accredited nursing program;
  Master’s or Doctorate degree from an accredited NP program; maintain clinical competencies through continuing education and practice; experience in a relevant patient care setting;
  National Provider Identifier (NPI); prescriptive authority through CDS and DEA registration per New Jersey state law; collaborative agreement with physicians on staff; excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite).
• Licenses and
  
  Certifications:
  
  NJ State Professional Registered Nurse License;
  Advanced Practice Nurse License; BLS HCP Certification; board certification by AANP or ANCC; AHA Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).
• Physician Assistant track: successful completion of an approved physician’s assistant program (AMA CME accredited); excellent written and verbal communication skills; proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite).
• Licenses and Certifications for PA track:
  Physician Assistant License; NCCPA certification; BLS; ACLS.
