Posting SummaryRutgers University Correctional Health Care is hiring a Part‑Time Licensed Practical Nurse for Bayside State Prison located in Leesburg, NJ. The role provides total patient care under the direction of a Registered Nurse, administering treatments, procedures, and a safe therapeutic environment for assigned patients.
- Initiates the admission process and identifies recurrent health problems, symptoms, and behavioral changes of residents.
- Collects pertinent data through observation, interview, and other health team members, communicating changes in resident condition to care providers.
- Maintains the clinical area clean, neat, and safe and participates in required counts and cleaning assignments.
- Adheres to institution and unit infection control policies.
- Maintains current professional skills and pursues professional growth to enhance correctional nursing practice and the organization's image.
Minimum: $33.51 per hour;
Mid Range: $34.01;
Maximum: $35.03.

Part‑Time; 20 hours per week; 40.00 standard hours per year;
Day shift. Requires on‑site work.
- Valid registration as a Licensed Practical Nurse in the State of New Jersey.
- CPR certification.
- Valid driver’s license; must possess own vehicle or alternative transportation to travel between locations.
- At least six (6) months of experience in an acute hospital setting.
Must have the physical capacity to perform CPR for at least 10 minutes and assist in lifting and rotating patients who cannot ambulate (up to 50 pounds).
Special ConditionsMust be approved by the Department of Corrections (DOC) and adhere to all DOC requirements.
