The Registered Nurse in the Special Care Nursery provides direct care to complex patients, focusing on assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care. This role is ideal for those looking to expand their nursing skills while working as part of an interdisciplinary team.

• Location: Edison, NJ
• Facility: Hackensack Meridian Health
• Schedule: Full-time, Day shift

• Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessments independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Formulate patient/family centered goals based on assessment data.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patients, families, and healthcare team.
• Administer medications utilizing advancements in bar‑scanning technology.
• Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes.

• Education:
  • Associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree required.
  • BSN in progress or willingness to acquire within three years of hire.
• Experience:
  • Six months of relevant nursing experience or participation in Nurse Residency Program.

  • BLS/CPR certification required within 60 days of hire.
