The Registered Nurse functions as a caregiver for a specific patient population, focusing on expanding knowledge and skills while providing effective direct care as part of an interdisciplinary team. • Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the patient's health or situation.
• Perform age and disease specific assessment/data collection independently.
• Recognize clinical and diagnostic status changes in patient status.
• Identify variables in patient/family education needs based on age and disease.
• Develop a plan of care that prescribes strategies and interventions.
• Formulate age and disease specific patient/family centered goals/outcomes.
• Communicate, coordinate, and implement the plan of care.
• Provide ongoing communication with patient/family and healthcare team.
• Implement age and disease specific care in an organized manner.
• Perform continuous Point-of-Care electronic documentation of patient assessments.

Education:

• A minimum of an associate in Nursing or diploma of Nursing degree.
• BSN in progress and/or willing to acquire within three (3) years of hire.

Experience:

• Six (6) or more months of relevant nursing experience OR participation in Hackensack Meridian Health's Nurse Residency Program.

Licenses &

Certifications:

• Current and valid Registered Nurse license in New Jersey.
• BLS/CPR certification by American Heart Association required within 60 days of hire.
