Brief Description Of Job And Division/Department
Morris County Department of Public Works, Division of Mosquito Control is currently accepting applications for Inspector Trainee, Mosquito Extermination. Under direction and supervision, performs work involved in learning to locate and recognize mosquito breeding areas, control mosquito populations and does other related duties as required.
Essential Functions And Responsibilities- Performs visual inspections of mosquitoes in their habitats such as ditches, swamps, stagnant water
- Learns to select and application appropriate chemical and biological controls to mosquito habitat
- Responds to service requests and inquiries from the public
- May perform minor maintenance work on extermination equipment such as oil change, replacement of belts, and minor repairs to maintain equipment in working order
Appointees will be required to possess a valid New Jersey driver's license. Successful candidates must become a licensed Pesticide Applicator. Needs to have the ability to understand information about insects, particularly mosquitoes. Must be able to keep records and follow a map as well as work outside in various weather conditions.
