REGIONAL FOOD AND SAFETY MANAGER

The Regional Food & Safety Manager is responsible for managing all safety, food safety, and quality assurance programs to support club team members and members in their regional market.

• Provide education and training to club team members on BJ’s safety and food safety standards to comply with regulatory standards (e.g., OSHA, EPA, FDA & USDA).
• Follow up on all accidents in real time, gathering all relevant information with the Investigations team to limit BJ’s liability.
• Collaborate with clubs on incidents that affect safety and food safety, such as power and refrigeration outages, safety violations, etc.
• Conduct safety and food safety assessments at each location in the market and work with club management on long‑term solutions to remediate concerns.
• Support clubs with emergencies by being on call 24/7.
• Work with chemical and pest vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Proactively participate in training classes and partner closely with the management team to onboard new team members, building relationships to ensure a safe shopping and working environment.
• Maintain awareness and understanding of regulatory changes.

• 2+ years of food quality assurance and/or safety experience in retail, food manufacturing, food services, or as a public health officer.
• B.S. in Occupational Health and Safety, Food Science, Human Nutrition, Microbiology, or another biological science degree (preferred).
• Knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local regulations and industry best practices related to food standards, safety, and quality assurance.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Detail‑oriented with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills.
• Strong communication skills and ability to problem‑solve.
• Ability to work proactively with regulatory authorities and respond to inspections within the market.
• Serv Safe Certified Instructor or Proctor certification (preferred).
• OSHA 10‑Hour or 30‑Hour certification (preferred).
• Travel required 70–80% with occasional overnight travel.
