The Laboratory Technician I supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies, following Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures.

Looking to fill 2 positions:
Weds‑Sun 7:00 am‑3:30 pm and Weds‑Sun 12:00 pm‑8:30 pm. Training will be Mon‑Fri for a couple of weeks.

Compensation: $17.50/hourly plus shift differential when on shift.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Perform routine lab tasks that provide experience and familiarization with methods, practices, and programs, including:
    • Preparation of samples using standard techniques
    • Performing chemical analyses using standard techniques
    • Calculating data
    • Recording and reporting data and any unusual test occurrences to the supervisor
    • Performing routine instrument maintenance
  • Responsible for performing job functions in compliance with EHS and QA standards
  • Responsible for general housekeeping in work area
  • Ability to become trained and competent on complex instrumentation including, but not limited to, gas chromatography, gas chromatography/mass spectrometry, atomic absorption, ICP, and instrument‑specific data systems.
Secondary Duties
  • Work under close supervision using routine and standard methods
  • Aliquot and weigh samples
  • Wash glassware
Requirements
  • Education: High school with chemistry coursework a plus; basic laboratory experience
  • Experience: Laboratory experience helpful; previous production‑oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
  • Final candidates must pass a pre‑employment background check and drug screen
  • Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including ability to read, write, and speak in English
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Physical Requirements
  • Lifting and Carrying: lift up to 50 pounds and carry up to 30 pounds when moving samples and disposing of waste
  • Pushing and Pulling: push and pull up to 200 pounds when moving sample carts and gas tanks
  • Body Positions: approximately 60% standing, 10% walking, 30% sitting; must be able to sit, stand, or stoop for long periods
  • Body Movements: stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching when getting samples and performing analyses
  • Smelling: detect unusual odors, leakage, contamination
  • Hearing: conversational hearing ability
  • Vision: performing analyses, viewing computer screen, doing paperwork
  • Speaking: conversational speaking ability
