The Assistant Manager role at Zales Jewelers is a full-time, on-site position based in Edison, NJ. This role supports daily store operations, including supervising sales associates, assisting with scheduling, and ensuring visual merchandising and store presentation meet brand standards. The Assistant Manager helps drive sales by coaching the team on customer engagement, product knowledge, and service excellence, while also handling keyholder responsibilities such as opening and closing the store.
Day-to-day tasks include monitoring sales goals, supporting inventory management, resolving customer concerns, and promoting a positive, inclusive work environment. The role collaborates closely with the Store Manager to execute promotional initiatives and maintain operational efficiency.
- Retail sales and customer service skills, with the ability to create welcoming, personalized shopping experiences.
- Team leadership and staff coaching skills, including delegating tasks and supporting performance development.
- Basic business and store operations skills, such as inventory handling, cash management, and loss prevention awareness.
- Communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, teammates, and management.
- Ability to work on-site full-time in Edison, NJ, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
- Prior retail or jewelry experience is preferred; supervisory or keyholder experience is a plus.
- Comfort with point-of-sale systems and willingness to learn new tools or processes.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in business, fashion, or related fields is beneficial.
