Laboratory Technician I – Entry Level. Supports environmental laboratory operations using general laboratory methods and equipment. Works Monday–Friday 7:00 am–4:00 pm, with overtime as needed.

Compensation: $17.50 per hour plus benefits.

• Retrieve samples from Sample Control for analysis.
• Perform sample preparation, which may include:
• Aliquot samples
• Spike and trace samples
• Prepare reagents
• Bottle samples
• Prepare concentrations
• Separate
• Sonicate
• Set up liquid racks
• Resolve discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
• Prepare general laboratory paperwork: recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, laboratory logbooks.
• Wash laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
• Stock laboratory supplies.
• Clean work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist other laboratory areas as needed.

• Comfortable with a flexible schedule; 8‑hour shift may become 12‑hour shift during busy season

• High school education with Chemistry coursework; basic laboratory experience
• Laboratory experience is helpful; previous production‑oriented work helpful (awareness of deadlines)
• Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship
• Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking)
• Ability to lift up to 25 lbs frequently, and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Candidates with a BA or BS or without a college degree will excel in this position
• Perform other duties as assigned

• Lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying up to 30 pounds when moving samples and disposing of waste
• Pushing and pulling up to 200 pounds when moving sample carts and gas tanks
• Approximately 60 % of time standing when analyzing samples, 10 % walking, 30 % sitting; must be able to sit, stand, or stoop for long periods
• Stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching when getting samples and performing analyses
• Smelling unusual odors, leakage, contamination
• Hand use: handling samples, operating instruments, data entry
• Hearing: conversational hearing ability
• Vision: performing analyses, viewing computer screen, doing paperwork
• Speaking: conversational speaking ability
