Job DescriptionLaboratory Technician I – entry level, full‑time position at Eurofins Environment Testing USA. The role involves general laboratory methods, techniques, and equipment maintenance in compliance with the company’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures.
Shift & HoursFull‑time, Wednesday to Sunday, 12:00 pm – 9:00 pm. Base pay $17.50 per hour with a 15% shift differential ($20.13 per hour) plus full benefits.
Responsibilities- Perform routine laboratory tasks that build experience with mandatory methods, programs, and protocols.
- Prepare and analyze samples using standard techniques, calculate data, record mandatory information, and report any irregular results to the supervisor.
- Conduct routine instrument maintenance and ensure compliance with EHS and QA standards.
- Maintain general housekeeping in the work area.
- Become competent on complex instrumentation, such as gas chromatography, GC/MS, atomic absorption, ICP, and associated data systems.
- Operate routine and standard methods under close supervision.
- Aliquot and weigh samples.
- Wash glassware.
- High school education; advanced chemistry coursework preferred.
- Basic laboratory experience and familiarity with meeting deadlines in production settings.
- Authorized to work in the United States indefinitely without sponsorship.
- Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
- Valid U.S. driver’s license.
- Professional working proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
- Ability to perform other duties as assigned.
- Strong grounding in analytical, general science, and mathematics.
- Knowledge of Standard Operating Procedures, general laboratory techniques, and mandatory safety rules.
- Proficiency in using a calculator, mathematical formulas, and data entry.
- Good organizational, communication, problem‑solving, and multitasking skills.
- Lifting up to 50 pounds and carrying up to 30 pounds when moving samples or waste.
- Pushing and pulling up to 200 pounds when moving sample carts or gas tanks.
- Approximately 60% time standing, 10% walking, 30% sitting; ability to stand, sit, or stoop for long periods.
- Frequent stooping, kneeling, crouching, and reaching to retrieve samples.
- Smelling, hearing, and vision must be sufficient for routine laboratory tasks.
- Must speak conversationally for self‑reporting and instructions.
