Overview
Environmental Specialist for Triumvirate Environmental's Lab & Onsite Support Services (Lab/OSS) team. Supports clients on-site by managing hazardous waste programs and projects, applying state & federal regulations.
Location:
on site at client locations in the Somerset, NJ area.
- Develop an understanding of OSHA regulations and Triumvirate’s Health and Safety practices.
- Prepare chemical and biological waste for shipment and disposal, including creation of all federal/state waste documents and managing paperwork for the material.
- Safely handle hazardous waste containers on client sites, including loading/unloading waste from vehicles.
- Conduct safety equipment and hazardous waste inspections.
- Occasionally perform and document Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) audits for clients.
- Deliver exceptional customer service by providing outstanding support and innovative solutions to clients.
- Develop a high level of state and federal regulatory expertise to ensure client compliance needs are met (e.g., RCRA, DOT, OSHA).
- Conduct spill response measures, including assessment and cleanup efforts.
- Rotating on-call responsibilities as part of the Emergency Response team.
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in the hazardous-waste industry, or relevant military experience.
- Ability to work as part of a team and independently.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities to effectively interact with clients, colleagues, and stakeholders.
- Ability to analyze complex issues, develop solutions, and implement strategies to achieve positive outcomes.
- Proven ability to build strong, positive relationships with clients and colleagues.
- Ability to work overtime on a regular basis and flexible hours within Monday through Friday.
- Ability to complete a 2 to 3 year professional advancement program in hazardous waste management.
- This role involves handling hazardous chemicals and biological waste and requires use of personal protective equipment; safety-sensitive position.
- Must be able to report to the office within 1 hour during Emergency Response rotating shifts.
- Valid US driver’s license and reliable transportation.
- Willingness to consent to pre-employment physical and drug screening (including THC) and to participate in a random drug screening program.
- Eligible to work in the United States without future sponsorship.
- Ability to lift 60 pounds on a regular basis.
- Willingness to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) upon employment.
- Prior relevant industry experience.
- Prior successful experience in a customer service role.
- Active HAZWOPER 24 or 40 hour certification.
