The Laboratory Technician I, using general laboratory methods, techniques, equipment, and instrumentation in compliance with Eurofins Environment Testing America’s Quality Assurance programs and standard operating procedures, supports laboratory operations through general maintenance of laboratory and supply storage areas, equipment, instruments, and supplies.
Full-time entry level position
Mon-Fri schedule 12:00pm- 8:30pm Compensation $17.50 plus eligible for benefits
This is an entry level position, those looking to gain experience in a laboratory setting without a 4 year degree
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Retrieving samples from Sample Control for analysis.
- Performing sample preparation which may include, but is not limited to, a combination of the following methods:
- Spike and trace samples
- Prepare reagents
- Bottle samples
- Prepare concentrations
- Separation
- Sonication
- Preparing water on soil samples for metals analysis.
- Performing digestions with concentrated acids
- Learning the Eurofins Laboratory Information Management System
- Learning the Mercury Analysis
- Resolving discrepancies and anomalies to ensure samples are properly labeled.
- Preparing general laboratory paperwork such as recording analysis results, tracking samples, bench sheets, and laboratory logbooks.
- Washing laboratory glassware to prepare for next day’s samples.
- Stocking laboratory supplies.
- Cleaning work area(s) to maintain a safe working environment.
- Assisting other laboratory areas as needed.
The ideal candidate would possess:
- Comfortable with a fast paced time sensitive laboratory
- Ability to use calculator/mathematical formulas and concepts
- Ability to use TALS
- Ability to complete work within time and quality constraints
- Can work independently following written or verbal instructions
- Cooperate and coordinate both orally and in writing

Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- High school Chemistry coursework preferred.
- Basic laboratoryexperiencepreferred
- Previous production-oriented work helpful (awareness and ability to meet deadlines)
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Samples will be in coolers packed in ice.
- Professional working proficiency in English is a requirement, including the ability to read, write and speak in English.
- Perform other duties as assigned
