Security Officer Access Control Specialist – Edison, NJ

Job Schedule- Day Time Tue 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Day Time Wed 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Day Time Thur 03:00 PM – 11:00 PM
- Day Time Sat 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- Day Time Sun 07:00 AM – 03:00 PM
- Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and drivers by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and/or appropriate emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Monitor and control access at entry and exit points by checking credentials, verifying scheduled arrivals and deliveries, and documenting visitor and vehicle activity according to site procedures.
- Respond to incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report unusual activity to site contacts and/or Allied Universal leadership.
- Help to deter unauthorized access by observing inbound and outbound traffic, challenging individuals when appropriate, and following post orders for restricted areas.
- Conduct regular and random patrols around access points, docks, gates, and the perimeter, with working environments and conditions varying by location.
- A minimum of 2 or more years of security-related experience is required.
- X‑Ray screening experience is preferred.
- Access control and/or badge experience is preferred.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
