This is a full-time, on-site Experienced Fire Sprinkler Technician role based in New Jersey, United States. The technician will install, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair fire sprinkler systems in a variety of commercial and multi-family buildings, ensuring compliance with applicable codes and standards. Day‑to‑day responsibilities include performing scheduled and emergency service calls, documenting findings, completing service reports, and communicating clearly with clients and project managers.
The role also involves coordinating with other trades, interpreting technical drawings and specifications, maintaining tools and equipment, and following strict safety protocols. The technician will support team members, help train junior staff as needed, and contribute to continuous improvement of service quality and efficiency.
- Strong technical skills in fire sprinkler system installation, inspection, testing, and repair, including familiarity with NFPA standards and local building codes.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, system schematics, and technical documentation for fire protection systems.
- Experience conducting field diagnostics, troubleshooting system issues, and performing corrective maintenance in commercial or multi-family environments.
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, basic mechanical aptitude, and safe work practices related to construction and fire protection work.
- Effective communication skills for interacting with customers, supervisors, and teammates, and for completing clear service reports and documentation.
- Demonstrated reliability, time management, and problem‑solving skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a crew.
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record, with the ability to travel to job sites throughout New Jersey.
- Relevant certifications or licenses in fire sprinkler systems or fire protection (e.g., NICET or equivalent) are highly preferred.
- Previous experience as a fire sprinkler technician or in a closely related fire protection or mechanical trade is strongly beneficial.
