You may enjoy the technical side of tax but feel ready for more than simply getting through another stack of returns.
Perhaps you want more exposure to clients.
Perhaps you want to work more closely with experienced professionals who can help you improve.
Or perhaps you want to join a smaller CPA firm where your work is visible and you are not just one person in a large production team.
This independent CPA firm in Edmond OK is looking for a Tax Preparer who wants to strengthen their technical skills, doing it in an environment where they are supported, and trusted.
You will work across a varied client base, prepare individual and business tax returns, support planning work, and have the opportunity to learn directly from senior members of the firm.
Why this role could be a good moveYou will work in an independent CPA firm where your contribution is easier to see.
You will gain experience across both individual and business taxation rather than being limited to one narrow area.
You will work closely with experienced tax professionals and have access to people who can help you develop.
You will have opportunities to build stronger client communication skills as your confidence grows.
You will also be joining a firm where there is room to take on more responsibility rather than staying in a purely preparer role indefinitely.
Compensation is available up to $95,000
, depending on experience.
You will prepare federal and state tax returns for individuals and privately owned businesses.
You will work across partnerships, S Corporations, C Corporations, and other entities depending on your experience.
You will organize and review client information, identify missing items, and help keep engagements moving.
You will communicate with clients to gather information and resolve straightforward tax questions.
You will support senior team members with tax planning and more complex engagements.
You will also help make sure work is completed accurately, efficiently, and on time.
As you develop, you can take on greater client contact and broader responsibility.
Who this role may suitYou may already be working as a Tax Preparer or Tax Staff within public accounting.
You may also be earlier in your career but have enough hands on tax experience to work with a reasonable level of independence.
You should have a solid understanding of individual and business tax preparation and be comfortable working through deadlines during busy periods.
The firm will value someone who is accurate, dependable, willing to ask good questions, and interested in continuing to develop.
A better fit than starting over somewhere elseIf your current role gives you plenty of work but not much development, this could offer a better balance.
You can stay close to the technical side of tax while gaining more exposure to clients, senior professionals, and the wider work of an independent CPA firm.
For someone who wants to keep progressing without disappearing into a large firm structure, this is worth considering.
CompensationUp to $95,000
, depending on experience.
You do not need to match every point or have an updated résumé ready.
If you have a solid tax foundation and want a role where you can keep developing, this is worth exploring.
