Position Overview
Perform computer and customer service–related duties in an office setting. Typical duties include typing, filing, answering telephones, providing customer service, scheduling appointments, and utilizing Microsoft Office applications.
Hours per Week10 hours per week, Monday – Friday.
DepartmentThe Department of Humanities and Philosophy.
Job Functions- Clerical duties, including data entry in Excel.
- Operate office equipment such as printers, scanners, and fax machines.
- Assist department personnel with campus deliveries.
- Greet visitors and provide assistance as needed.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Fall/Spring Semesters:
All student employees must be enrolled at least half‑time. For fall/spring semesters, half‑time is 5 credit hours for graduate students and 6 credit hours for undergraduates. International students must be enrolled full‑time (9 credit hours for graduates, 12 for undergraduates).
Summer Semester:
Regular student employees must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours. If not enrolled in summer classes, students must be enrolled in fall classes, though FICA taxes may apply. Federal Work‑Study Program positions require a minimum of 6 credit hours for undergraduates or 5 for graduates.
Enrollment Exception:
If required credit hours to graduate are less than the minimum needed for employment, students must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor stating the hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date, and submit it to Human Resources.
