Lube Technician

The Lube Technician position is an entry-level automotive service role with openings at Bob Howard Group 1 Automotive dealerships located in the Oklahoma City and Edmond areas.

This role is responsible for performing routine vehicle maintenance and basic inspections while delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality service.

Lube Technicians play an important role in maintaining customer vehicles and supporting the service department by identifying basic maintenance needs.

The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and eager to learn in a fast-paced dealership environment. This position offers hands-on experience, on-the-job training, and opportunities for growth within the Bob Howard Auto Group.

Responsibilities
  • Perform oil changes, fluid services, and routine vehicle maintenance efficiently and accurately, following dealership and factory standards
  • Inspect vehicles for basic safety and maintenance items including tires, brakes, belts, hoses, and filters
  • Rotate tires and check/adjust tire pressures
  • Document all services performed and inspection findings accurately
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
  • Road-test vehicles when necessary to verify completed work
  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures
  • Provide timely updates to service advisors regarding vehicle status and recommended services
  • Participate in ongoing training to expand technical knowledge and skill set
  • Uphold company values in all interactions with customers, coworkers, and vendors
Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver license.
  • Basic understanding of automotive systems (engine, brakes, tires, fluids)
  • Ability to perform routine maintenance services, including:
  • Oil and filter changes
  • Tire rotation and pressure checks
  • Fluid checks and top-offs (transmission, coolant, brake, power steering)
  • Battery testing and replacement
  • Visual inspections of belts, hoses, and filters
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools
  • Ability to follow manufacturer and shop service procedures

In addition to competitive compensation, we offer:

  • Hourly Pay Range: $16.00–$17.00 per hour
  • Pay Type:

    Non-exempt, hourly position
  • Compensation will be based on relevant experience, skills, and qualifications
