Service Consultant

As a service consultant you will be responsible for initiating automotive services and repairs by ascertaining vehicle performance problems and service requests; verifying warranty and service contract coverage; developing estimates; writing repair orders; maintaining customer records. You will serve as the communicator and liaison between the customer and technician; ensuring the customer's needs are understood by the technician and the needed and recommended service/repairs are understood by the customer.

Edmond Hyundai is looking for an experienced Automotive Service Consultant to join our high-volume service department. We are seeking a professional, motivated Service Advisor who understands the automotive repair process, knows how to build trust with customers, and is driven to deliver strong sales and customer satisfaction results.

• Greet customers promptly and professionally
• Conduct thorough vehicle inspections and accurately document customer concerns
• Write detailed repair orders based on customer concerns and technician recommendations
• Clearly explain recommended maintenance and repairs
• Present repair estimates and obtain customer authorization
• Maintain consistent communication with customers throughout the repair process
• Monitor vehicle progress and keep customers informed of changes or delays
• Recommend maintenance and repairs based on manufacturer guidelines and vehicle condition
• Review completed repairs with customers and explain work performed
• Coordinate effectively with technicians, parts personnel, and management
• Maintain accurate repair orders and follow dealership processes
• Work toward department sales, gross profit, CSI, and productivity goals
• Follow up with customers regarding declined services and future maintenance needs
• Provide an exceptional ownership experience from check-in through delivery

• Previous automotive Service Advisor/Service Consultant experience required
• Dealership service experience strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of automotive maintenance and repair
• Ability to understand and explain technician recommendations
• Excellent communication and customer service skills
• Strong sales and negotiation abilities
• Ability to confidently present repair recommendations and overcome objections
• Strong organizational and time-management skills
• Ability to manage multiple repair orders in a fast-paced environment
• Professional appearance and positive attitude
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record
• Strong computer and automotive software skills
