General Schedule

The general schedule for this position is 40 hours a week, Monday through Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Note Must be able to work some evenings and/or weekends.

Position Overview

Assist the athletic department in the administration of all aspects of a comprehensive NCAA compliance program, with responsibility for the day-to-day management of the program. Work encompasses compliance-related issues for all sports, including, but not limited to amateurism, NIL, recruiting, eligibility, financial aid, awards/benefits, complimentary admissions, camps, and clinics, and playing/practice seasons.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Contribute to creating and maintaining institutional control in all aspects of NCAA, MIAA, GNAC, and institutional compliance.
  • Assist in issuing NCAA rules interpretations and in the preparation and dissemination of rules educational materials.
  • Assist with the monitoring of recruiting activities including but not limited to contacts, evaluations, campus visits, etc.
  • Monitor functions associated with official and unofficial visits including pre-visit requirements, travel, expenses, visit-related activities, tryout activities, and complimentary admissions.
  • Work with entities outside the Athletic Department, including but not limited to:
    Registrar, Enrollment Services, Admissions, Financial Aid, Student Conduct, Title IX, various academic Deans, etc.
  • Process all, and assist in, investigations of reported NCAA, University, or Conference rules violations as they relate to intercollegiate athletics.
  • Assist with the department's monitoring of student-athlete opportunities associated with name, image, and likeness.
  • Assist with the department's monitoring of eligibility and financial aid.
  • Assist with the department's compliance with applicable regulatory bodies and regulations, including Title IX and gender equity, and research and provide interpretation of these regulations, as necessary.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications/Experience Required
  • Bachelor's degree in related field or equivalent work experience that provides knowledge of and exposure to fundamental theories, principles, and concepts or a combination of education and experience
  • Must have a valid Driver's License and clean driving record.
Qualifications/Experience Preferred
  • Master's degree in a related field
  • NCAA compliance experience
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
  • Possess a good working knowledge of NCAA Division II eligibility regulations.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail, and a working knowledge of LSDBi, RSRO, Compliance Assistant, Eligibility Center, and ARMS or other athletic compliance software.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize and coordinate multiple projects; demonstrated ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; demonstrated ability to work independently; demonstrated strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills; demonstrated proficiency in written communication skills, including department policies; and, demonstrated ability to work with diverse groups/populations.
  • Ability to analyze complex situations accurately and adopt effective courses of action; participate in and contribute to group meetings, conferences, and interviews; present clear and concise information orally and in written reports; carry out a variety of professionally complex assignments without detailed instructions; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with a variety of individuals.
