Overview

Locumly is seeking a dedicated and experienced Physician Assistant for a permanent primary care role with a highly regarded healthcare organization in North Carolina. This full-time position focuses on providing coordinated, high-quality primary care to older adults within an innovative Programs of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE) environment. Working alongside a collaborative interdisciplinary team, you will help empower senior patients to maintain their health, independence, and quality of life.

What

you will be doing
  • Provide comprehensive primary medical care to geriatric patients in collaboration with program physicians.
  • Conduct initial, semi-annual, routine, and acute medical evaluations and physical assessments.
  • Manage complex chronic conditions, treat acute illnesses, and provide preventive clinical services.
  • Formulate, update, and integrate individualized care plans within a multidisciplinary team framework.
  • Prescribe appropriate medications, therapies, and specialist referrals as needed.
  • Assist with care transitions, discharge planning, and patient/family education regarding treatment plans and health maintenance.
  • Participate in rotating on-call coverage to ensure continuous patient support.
  • Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant clinical documentation.
What you must have
  • Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program with NCCPA Board Certification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice experience as a Physician Assistant; strong preference for candidates with a background in geriatrics or managing frail elderly populations.
  • Active North Carolina PA license (or eligible and willing to obtain).
  • Active DEA registration and BLS certification.
  • Strong clinical judgement, independent decision-making skills, and a commitment to collaborative care.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work without visa sponsorship.

    Full-time schedule with participation in an interdisciplinary team structure and rotating call schedule.
