Position Overview
This is a regular student labor position with the UCO School of Music, which requires heavy, physical and/or manual labor. Duties may include moving furniture or equipment, working outside on grounds, and/or helping with preventative maintenance.
Hours per Week5 hours per week. Some evening hours are required.
College/Department OverviewThe UCO School of Music maintains a high level of commitment to its students, alumni and musical community; it is dedicated to assisting them in meeting the challenges of an ever-broadening and diversifying musical world.
Department Specific Job FunctionsDuties include but are not limited to serving as a stagehand for concerts and recitals as needed, setting up and tearing down for rehearsals, keeping equipment and furniture straight and neat in classrooms and all common areas of the music building, helping transport instruments and/or equipment between buildings on campus, and possibly even the jazz lab. Additional duties as requested.
Enrollment Requirements- Fall/Spring Semesters: All student employees must be enrolled at least half‑time (5 credit hours for graduates, 6 for undergraduates). International students must be enrolled full‑time (9 for graduates, 12 for undergraduates).
- Summer Semester: Students must be enrolled in at least 3 credit hours, or if not enrolled in summer classes, must be enrolled in fall classes; FICA taxes may apply.
- Enrollment Exception: If the number of credit hours needed to graduate is less than the minimum required for employment, the student must obtain a letter from their Academic Advisor stating the number of hours needed to graduate and anticipated graduation date and submit it to Human Resources.

Qualifications / Experience RequiredMust be able to lift, carry, and transport heavy objects up to 50 pounds on a continuous basis; crawl into confined spaces; stoop; bend; stand for long periods; regularly use arms, hands, and fingers.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
