Position Summary
This full‑time, tenure‑track Assistant Professor of Psychology is sought for a role beginning August 2026. Review of applications will commence February 1 2026.
Department Specific Essential Job FunctionsThe Department of Psychology at the University of Central Oklahoma invites applications for a tenure‑track Assistant Professor who is a behavior analyst with a earned doctorate and evidence‑based clinical or experimental experience.
Primary Responsibilities- Teach undergraduate courses in psychology with an emphasis on behavior analysis and in the Behavior Analysis master’s program. The teaching load is 12 credit hours each fall and spring semester.
- Provide instruction in a variety of formats (face‑to‑face, hybrid, online) and at day and evening time slots on rotation.
- Serve and advance the Behavior Analysis master’s program, actively pursuing ABAI accreditation for a master’s level program.
- Conduct scholarly work related to ABA, engage, support, and mentor student research, and chair or serve on master’s thesis committees.
Required
- Earned doctorate degree awarded by a regionally accredited or internationally recognized institution in Psychology, Behavior Analysis, or a related area.
- Current BCBA or BCBA‑D certification and eligibility for license as a Licensed Behavior Analyst in Oklahoma.
- ABDs may apply; if the doctorate is not obtained and submitted by the time of employment, the position rank will change to Tenure‑Track‑Instructor.
Preferred
- Teaching experience in higher education and experience developing and delivering online courses using learning management systems.
- Ability to provide high‑quality mentorship to undergraduate and graduate students and a record of scholarship.
- Salary is commensurate with credentials and experience.
Training and research in learning and behavior, behavior analysis, and experimental psychology; ability to mentor and advise students in behavior analytic research and practice areas.
